What is Pilates?

Pilates is a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900´s.

It is a combination of Eastern and Western philosophies for mental and physical conditioning. This multifaceted program combines breathing exercises, development of the deep-lying small muscle groups and general improvement of structural alignment.

The focus on lengthening the spine assists the body to work more harmoniously as a whole. The use of the small Pilates equipment (foam roller, ring and stability ball) bring the already challenging Pilates mat training to a higher level.
